Welcome to our news pages, bringing you up to the moment news of our website, company, staff and properties. We will also be announcing important news from the golf courses in Spain and the islands we feel relevant to you our customers
Happy new year to all our customers!
Doom and gloom seem to be surrounding the UK at the moment with the Credit Crunch we are hearing so much about. However this is not in its entirety a bad thing when considering your next holiday to Spain. Yes there are a couple of things to consider but there are also some benefits.
The one big bad point is the exchange rate for the Euro, this has dropped from .68 to .91 which means that for every £100 you exchange you get €109 instead of the €147 this time last year. This makes everything you spend you Euros on that little bit more expensive. However almost everything you buy is STILL cheaper than the UK for instance a 3 course set meal at Diana's for €9 is equal to £8.20 where you would struggle to find the same in the UK for less than £15. Deals are available from most exchange bureau's for larger amounts so a group can always club together and don't forget the main players like the Post Office who's rate is always just that little bit better.
While on the subject of money, give your bank a call to let them know you will be using your card abroad, I have been informed recently that certain banks are blocking foreign transactions unless pre notified for your safety and can take up to 24 hours to unblock your card!
However its not all bad. With the reduction on VAT and fuel costs coming down air travel is starting to get cheaper. Looking at Monarch's website I am seeing deals for £5.99 each way plus the airport charges and tax, so the cost of getting there is going down rapidly. Ryan Air are still offering the occasional free flights plus charges and tax so it is possible to get a return flight for £80 - £90.
We at Spanish Golfing Villas have held our prices from 2008 for the moment as our costs have stayed the same and do not look as though they will increase this year.
So all in all as long as you don't want to buy large amounts of goods to bring back to the UK it can actually be cheaper than last year. So you can beat the Credit Crunch!
By Daniel Slade (Company Owner)
After many weeks of hard work here it is, Spanish Golfing Villas
very own website. It has long been our intention to supply a
golf instruction package in Spain that can be tailored to each
individuals needs, something that just is not available at a
holiday venue. It is not all about the golf though, yes we have
first class instructors and excellent support staff in Spain,
but without the stunning properties making your stay both
comfortable and relaxed we would not be recommended time and
time again.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank a few people for the hard work getting us to where we are today. Peter and Mike and their team who work tirelessly to ensure the right properties meet your every expectation, Ade and his wife for all their hard work and dedication, Terry and his staff who provide one of the best instruction packages I have seen and also Sally for looking after the accounts.
All that leaves me to say is I look forward to seeing you all in Spain.
